Pomo for Reminders ("the app," "we," "our") is a macOS menu bar application developed and operated as an independent software product. This Privacy Policy describes how we handle information in connection with your use of the app.
We are committed to your privacy. This policy is designed to be transparent, readable, and complete — not to obscure how your data is handled. The answer is simple: it isn't.
Pomo for Reminders collects no personal information of any kind.
| Data type | Collected? | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Reminders content (task names, dates) | Not collected | Read locally only. Never transmitted. |
| Apple ID or account information | Not collected | No accounts required or created. |
| Usage analytics or telemetry | Not collected | No crash reporting, no event tracking. |
| Device identifiers | Not collected | No device fingerprinting of any kind. |
| Location data | Not collected | The app does not request location access. |
| Network requests | None made | The app makes no outbound network connections. |
Pomo for Reminders requests access to your macOS Reminders through the standard Apple EventKit framework. This permission is granted by you via the macOS Privacy & Security system dialog.
Once granted:
You can revoke Reminders access at any time in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Reminders.
The app stores minimal preference data locally on your Mac — such as your last selected Reminders list — using macOS standard user defaults. This data:
If you use iCloud to sync your Reminders across devices, that sync is governed entirely by Apple's iCloud service and Apple's Privacy Policy. Pomo for Reminders does not interact with iCloud directly — it reads from the local Reminders database that Apple's operating system manages.
Purchases made through the Mac App Store are processed by Apple and are subject to Apple's Terms of Service. We do not receive or process any payment information.
Pomo for Reminders does not integrate with, send data to, or rely on any third-party analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or data services. There are no third-party SDKs embedded in the application.
The app contains no advertising SDKs, no analytics frameworks, no tracking pixels, and no third-party code that communicates with external servers.
Pomo for Reminders does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Because the app collects no data whatsoever, it is inherently compliant with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar regulations.
Because Pomo for Reminders collects no personal data and makes no network connections, there is no personal data at risk of breach or unauthorized access through our systems. Your Reminders data is protected by Apple's macOS security model, including sandboxing and encryption at rest.
The app is distributed exclusively through the Mac App Store and is sandboxed and notarized by Apple, providing an additional layer of security verification.
Because we do not collect or store any personal data, there is no data for us to access, correct, delete, or export on your behalf. If you uninstall the app, all local preferences are removed from your device.
If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA), California, or another jurisdiction with specific data protection laws, this policy reflects that no data subject rights need to be exercised with us — as we hold no personal data.
If we update this Privacy Policy, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, if changes are material, notify users through the Mac App Store release notes or app update notifications.
We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
